Karen got into advertising by holding the world’s most expensive bake sale, selling $500 cookies in order to pick up a trophy in Cannes. Since then, she’s become an award winning creative, working with companies such as Under Armour, Google, Nike, and Walmart. During her career, she’s pitched brands, led brands, and even created one from scratch.
As a Group Creative Director at Havas Chicago, Karen is helping to reinvigorate great American brands through cultural relevance, leading work across brands like Reynolds and Hefty. Prior to Havas, she was a member of the Global Concepts & Strategy team at Under Armour, working cross-functionally with teams on creative, strategic and marketing challenges and opportunities. Karen helped to define the social voice for Under Armour and created stunts for top tier athletes like Misty Copeland, Stephen Curry, and Jordan Spieth. She helped launch the UA HealthBox at CES and led the creation of UA Fast Physical, a digital engagement experience that has expanded internationally including the 2016 Olympics.
Karen is passionate about championing female creative talent and leadership in the industry. She’s the founder and director of DC’s chapter of SheSays, a global networking platform for women. She’s led the organization since January 2016 and has grown the community to over 800 people while hosting monthly panels across DC.
